The size and diversity of the Brazilian market for biodiesel will allow the expansion of the industrial park throughout the country, enabling the emergence and evolution of new companies.

The diversity of oilseeds available in Brazil is a guarantee of supply and quality, adding competitiveness to other fuels, in addition to contributing to a policy of social inclusion, enabling the participation of agribusiness and family farming.

Today, 10% of the diesel consumed in Brazil is imported. This fuel is one of the most used in the country, with annual sales of around 38.2 billion liters, which corresponds to 57.7% of the national consumption of vehicular fuels.

Biodiesel makes it possible to save foreign exchange by importing petroleum and diesel oil. This is a strategic advantage in reducing dependence on oil imports. The commercial use of B2 (mixture of 2% of biodiesel with diesel) creates a potential market for the commercialization of 800 million liters of biodiesel/year, which represents an annual savings in the order of US$ 160 million in diesel imports.

This fuel is already used commercially in the United States and in European Union countries. However, the continent has restrictions on the available cultivation area for oilseeds and industrial capacity, which opens up opportunities for Brazil to export its fuel.
